LAHORE: Pakistan men’s cricket team has set a new world record of most T20I wins in a calendar year after grabbing the 19th victory in a match against West Indies on Tuesday.
Pakistan became the first team to record 19 wins out of 28 in T20I in a calendar year after coming close to figure in 2018 after collecting 17 victories in a row.
Babar Azam-led Green Shirts are going to take on West Indies in the third T20I on Thursday (tomorrow) at National Stadium Karachi to have a chance to add one more victory to the calendar year’s statistics.
In 2018, Pakistan had won 17 out of 19 matches in a calendar year. According to the latest statistics, Uganda is standing in the third position with 16 wins and South Africa is in the fifth position with 15 wins this year. India had won 14 matches in the calendar year of 2018.
Seven T20I had been postponed due to the withdrawal of tours of New Zealand and England.
