In the first match of the series of 3 T20 matches played in Sharjah, Afghanistan defeated Pakistan by 6 wickets and achieved their first victory against Pakistan in international cricket.

On behalf of Pakistan, Imad Wasim 18, Saeem Ayub 17, Tayyab Tahir 15 and captain Shadab Khan were out by scoring 12 runs. On behalf of Afghanistan, Fazalul Haq Farooqui, Mujibur Rehman, and Muhammad Nabi scored 2, 2 while captain Rashid Khan, Azmatullah. Umar Zai and Naveen ul Haq took 1, 1 wicket.

Afghanistan achieved the target of 93 runs in the 18th over at the loss of 4 wickets. Muhammad Nabi was outstanding by scoring 38 runs not out. Najeebullah Zadran returned to the pavilion not out after scoring 17 runs.
Rehmanullah Garbaz scored 16 runs, Ibrahim Zadran scored 9 runs and Karim Jannat scored 7 runs. Pakistan debutant Ehsanullah took 2 wickets while Naseem Shah and Imad Wasim took 1 and 1 wicket respectively.
