PCB Failed Opening Ceremony

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) failed to please the netizens with the opening ceremony of the 6th season of Pakistan Super League (PSL) while some scenes led to a heated discussion between the government officials and journalists on social media.

Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry took to the field after senior journalist Ansar Abbasi called the ceremony a demonstration of shamelessness and obscenity.

Cricket fans also expressed their displeasure at the opening ceremony of PSL. The fans also raised objections that why did the board hold the inauguration in the Turkish city of Istanbul when the tournament was happening in Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the columnist and journalist Ansar Abbasi was stirred by the scenes in the PSL ceremony of what he deemed as obscenity.

He noted that the cricket board should be ashamed of showing indecency in the opening ceremony of the PSL.

Social media users also commented on Ansar Abbasi’s tweet.

The federal minister also came in opposition of the senior journalist and criticized Ansar Abbasi.

Fawad said the state and especially the people of the middle class have surrendered to this thought process. He added that such kind of mentality will destroy society in the future.

Moreover, the cricket fans were not much impressed with the inauguration of PSL 6.

A few people on Twitter expressed outrage on the duration of the much-awaited event.

Some social media users did not like the singers’ performances.

Addressing Prime Minister Imran Khan on Twitter, some Pakistanis wrote that the holographic technology used in the ceremony could have been brought to Pakistan as well.

They questioned why PCB spent heavily and organize the event in Turkey.

According to the netizens, all the artists could have performed in Pakistan along while all animation work could have been well executed indigenously too. They expressed that there was no reason for organizing the event in Istanbul.
