Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has apparently decided to reapply the Imran Khan formula as it has empowered all-formats captain Babar Azam after seizing powers from head coach Misbah-ul-Haq in the selection affairs.
It is decided to reverse the roles of the captain and coaches including head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and bowling coach Waqar Younis in the team selection.
PCB has authorized Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam as triumphant of the 1992 World Cup, Imran Khan.
This has been done so with the approach to hold the person accountable for the team’s performance who would be leading the team in the ground.
Earlier, the head coach Misbah-ul-Haq enjoyed excessive powers when he had all-say in the team selection and captain Babar Azam could only advise him.
However, it has turned vice-versa now after the PCB cricket committee reviewed the abysmal performance of the cricket team across all formats over the past 16 months.
“The committee also recommended that the PCB should continue to support and back the team management, whilst suggesting that the next performance appraisal be conducted following the home series against South Africa,”, PCB said in a press release.

The series against South Africa is the last chance saloon for coaches Misbah-ul-Haq and Waqar Younis or else they would possibly have to step down.
