Wicket-Keeper Captains Pushing Lucks in PSL 6

Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6 has not proved to be lucky for two wicket-keeper captains including Sarfaraz Ahmed and Muhammad Rizwan as their respective teams have not seen lucky days yet.

Both wicket-keeper captains including Sarfaraz Ahmed of Quetta Gladiators and Mohammad Rizwan of Multan Sultans have not managed to bag a victory in their first two matches of PSL 6.

Quetta Gladiators had a disappointing start to the tournament as it lost to Karachi Kings by 7 wickets.

The team could only manage to put 121 runs while the captain could not even reach double figures and scored only 7 runs.

In its second match against Lahore Qalandars, Quetta Gladiators put a mammoth total of 78 runs on the scoreboard and captain Sarfaraz contributed 40 runs.

However, the team received a befitting response from the opponents, and with Hafeez’s blistering inning of 73 on just 33 balls, Lahore Qalandars clinched victory by 9 wickets.

Mohammad Rizwan although continued to impress fans with his individual performances, the team has also lost its first two matches of PSL 6.

Wicket-keeper batsman Rizwan scored 71 against Islamabad United in the opening match of the tournament for Multan Sultans and took the team’s total to 150. However, Islamabad United clinched the victory by 3 wickets.

Following the footsteps of Gladiators, Sultans electrified in its second match against Peshawar Zalmi and set a target of 194 runs for the opponents. Rizwan’s share was quick 41 runs on 28 balls.

But, Zalmi clobbered Sultans as it smoothly finished the match with an over still left.

The first two matches for both wicket-keeper batsmen were marked by bad-luck despite their performances.

Both captains are going to play their next matches on February 26 against different teams and the fans are on tenterhooks to see if they break cold streaks.
