Rameez Raja’s Initiatives to Alleviate PCB’s Financial Crisis

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman, Rameez Raja, sought the help of local businessmen for the betterment of cricket and to curb the financial crisis.

Rameez Raja visited Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) and rang the traditional bell to start a business before the trading began.

Talking to traders on the occasion, Rameez Raja said that there is a need to improve the structure of stadiums and cricket in the country.

He added that the participation of the business community will assist in improving the history of cricket.

Seeing Rameez’s initiative, many cricket analysts say that he is following the steps that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has taken to improve cricket at the local level.

Comparing with Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), the chairman said that they have come a long way with investments while national cricket is run on International Cricket Council (ICC) funds.

He added that there is a need to increase the share of local investors to develop the cricket economy so that international level cricket can be produced in the country

Rameez mentioned that the tour cancelation of New Zealand and England from Pakistan has proven that if the cricket board was strong and the country has provided them with good facilities keeping in the security concerns and they wouldn’t have changed their minds at the last minute.

Moreover, Ramiz Raja conducted a meeting with the business tycoons’ delegation led by Aqeel Karim Dhedhi (AKD).

In the meeting, the businessmen suggested PCB chairman that a 5-star hotel should be constructed near National Stadium so that the concern of the international cricket team could be addressed.
