Barcelona Coach Ronald Koeman wants the media to respect Lionel Messi more after his contract details with the club leaked in the Spanish media as the football star scored his 650th goal for the club in a match played hours after the report of the confidential deal surfaced in the media.

Hours after the private document was leaked in the media, Messi scored his 650th goal for Barcelona against Athletic Bilbao. Barcelona won the match against Athletic Bilbao 2-1.

The rough day for the football star started when a Spanish newspaper El Mundo revealed the sky-high amount of the contract that Barca had paid to stop Messi from leaving his childhood club.

The newspaper had claimed that Barcelona had spent beyond its means to retain Messi and it ruined the club’s current financial status.

However, Messi didn’t respond to the contract-controversy but Barcelona Coach Koeman did after Barcelona’s win.

The coach expressed that anybody who published confidential details of the contract had bad intentions.
