Another Pakistani to Represent Prestigious English County

Pakistani pace sensation, Shaheen Shah Afridi, has made himself on the front pages of the newspapers as he has been selected to represent Middlesex County Cricket Club.

Middlesex County Cricket Club is one of 18 first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales.

Shaheen will be joining up with the Middlesex squad in pre-season ahead of the start of the 2022 season.

He will remain at the county club until the remaining team joins up for international duty in mid-July.

The 21-year-old left-arm performer reached out to his Twitter handle to share his achievement.

“Delighted to join the #OneMiddlesex family”, he wrote.

“Shaheen is a world-class pace bowler, and we are thrilled that he will be representing us in 2022”, said Middlesex Chief Executive Andrew Cornish.

The pacer played for Hampshire in the T20 Blast last year and represented Pakistan in 19 Tests, 28 one-day internationals (ODIs), and 30 T20Is.

Following the announcement, Afridi’s fans were also delighted over the news of his debut in the Middlesex County Club.
