Lahore Qalandars skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi has become a top trend on social media after shining at the death with blistering hits to take his side to Super Over against Peshawar Zalmi.
Afridi made it difficult for Peshawar Zalmi to stop their chase for the 159-run target as he smashed a quick 39 off 20 balls with 4 sixes and 2 fours, taking his team to the Super Over.

Zalmi skipper Wahab Riaz took responsibility and prove himself by giving just five runs to Qalandars’ batters Fakhar Zaman and Harry Brook.
Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Haris came in to confront difficult to handle Shaheen Shah Afridi in Super Over, however, stable and calm Malik took only two balls to stroke back-to-back fours to grab the win for his side.

Lahore Qalandars progressed to the qualifier besides retaining the second spot on the PSL point table despite facing defeat with 10 game points after Multan Sultans’ 12.
Wahab Riaz declared the player of the match. PZ skipper said, “There was pressure on me in the Super Over, I am happy that I was able to deliver for the team. Hats off to Shaheen that he scored those runs in the final over, Umar is a youngster and a bit inexperienced and took some pressure but he will learn from this.”
“Mohammad Haris has made a real difference to the side with the gloves, bat or fielding. In Super Over we needed a batter who could get us singles and Shoaib Malik and Haris were the best combination with the bat for us in the situation.”
