ICC Cricket

For as long as one can remember, Bangladeshi cricketer Shakib Al Hasan has been in the process of getting spoiled and despite several warnings, the brat didn’t get rid of his misconduct.

Recently, the 34-year-old all-rounder has been restricted by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for three matches and was splashed a fine worth 500,000 taka (US$5,900) after he lost his temper twice in Dhaka Premier League (DPL) game.

Interestingly, this is not the first time that Shakib has been identified with such disciplinary issues, he holds a history of losing cool in the cricket field.

Shakib is currently No 1 in ICC ODI All-Rounder rankings and No 2 in T20s.

In January this year, Shakib completed his two-year ban imposed by International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2019 on failing to report that met a bookie.

Earlier in 2018, Bangladesh was playing against Sri Lanka when captain Shakib and other players smashed a glass door while celebrating victory in the game. They later apologized for the act but it wasn’t accepted by the management.

Even before this, Shakib was suspended and fined BDT 20,000 ($256 approx) as he blew a gasket when umpire Tanvir Ahmed didn’t raise finger on his appeal during a BPL match in 2015.

Shakib’s career was at a risk in 2014 when he pointed at his crotch on live television. However, BCB just banned him from three ODIs and imposed a fine worth BDT 300,000 (US $3,800) for the gross act.

Bangladeshi all-rounder once went physical with a fan who was harassing his wife at the Shere Bangla National Stadium.

Since Shakib Al Hasan has made his debut in the international circuit, he has remained in close connection with controversies.

Many cricket fans believe that the team heavily relies on one of the top all-rounders in the world and the cricket board has a big part in turning a great cricketer into a spoiled brat.
