Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson has recalled how he faced the fastest 100 mph delivery of Pakistani speedster Shoaib Akhtar 20 years ago on his 21st birthday.
Cricket Australia shared a flashback from 20 years ago when Pakistani speedster Shoaib Akhtar bowled a 100 mph delivery to Shane Watson. The Australian batter has recalled the ball as a memorable yet stunning part of his 21st birthday.
Shane Watson shared the video clip of the fastest delivery in cricket history which was uploaded by Cricket Australia on April 27. He captioned it, “What a way to spend my 21st birthday!! @shoaib100mph was so good and so bloody fast!!”

Akhtar became the first bowler to make a record of crossing the 100 mph barrier two decades ago.
Cricket Australia wrote, “On the day Shoaib Akhtar became the first bowler to break the 100mph barrier 20 years ago, we dug into the archives to find perhaps his most ferocious delivery on Australian shores!”
Commenting on his remarks, the ex-Pakistani pacer said, “I was also just 26. Memorable series, how time flies!! Hope you’re doing good mate.”
