Shoaib Akhtar Slams PSL Anthem, Composer Boasts it

The former speedster shared that he is very disappointed by the performance of PSL officials in terms of selecting the vocalists for the anthem

Rawalpindi Express Shoaib Akhtar expressed how disheartened he felt after hearing the lyrics and beat of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6 anthem.

The anthem, Groove Mera, continues to be criticized by social media users. The legendary, Naseebo Lal is also being severely blamed for ruining the whole vibe of the anthem.

Apart from the users, Former Pakistan fast bowler, Shoaib Akhtar, sarcastically said in a video that he going to file a case against Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for finalizing the vocalists.

PSL anthem’s composer, Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan’s formula failed this time too, but he is not ready to admit it.

Besides, Naseebo Lal is happy and satisfied despite the negative reaction.

Naseebo Lal ignored the criticism against her after the release of the anthem and is happy that she was given the opportunity to sing the anthem for the first time.

The former fast bowler said that the singers do not know the meaning of Groove themselves.

Meanwhile, Zulfiqar Khan shared a post by an Instragam user who had praised the song which has rather received mixed reactions.

Addressing singer Ali Zafar, a user named Hunters was pleased that Ali Zafar was not chosen to sing PSL anthem.

Some users believed that Zulfiqar Khan was himself behind the post to weigh off criticism his composed-song has garnered since the release.

In response to it, social media activist Mahwash Ajaz tweeted Shoaib Akhtar’s video of riling PSL anthem.

Mahwash also commented ‘Pathetic’ in reply to the user who had praised Zulfiqar Khan.

Contrarily, celebrities also came forward in support of the anthem and criticized Shoaib Akhtar for making fun of the efforts made by the vocalists.

Sarwar of Pyar Ke Sadqay, Omair Rana, also appreciated the anthem adding that the pitch is very engaging.

In addition to it, musician Haroon Shahid also cleared the meaning of the word ‘Groove’ which was probably misspelled with ‘Grove’, and suggested Shoaib Akhtar support the artists besides criticizing them.

Previously, Zulfiqar Khan also composed the anthem for PSL-5 with Arif Lohar and other singers last year and the attempt to experiment with 22 musical instruments in the song had also miserably failed.
