Six Members of Pakistan Cricket Team Test Covid-19 Positive

SPORTS DESK: Six members of the Pakistan cricket team have tested positive for Covid-19 in their arranged isolation in Christchurch, New Zealand.

International Cricket Council (ICC) disclosed the information on November 26, stating that two of six results have been speculated to be labeled as “historical”, meaning that they were already infected before arriving.

The squad’s dispensation for practice has been set aside as inspections are yet to be completed.

New Zealand Cricket (NZC) said that while this may be a set back for the team.

However the test results confirm that the measures taken by the New Zealand government is working.

They also mentioned that some members of the visiting squad had violated terms of protocol on first day at the designated isolation facility.

NZC revealed that they will be talking to the team members to help them understand their isolation requirements.

Adding that NZC regards public health and safety to be the primary concern when hosting international teams.

The Pakistan cricket team are scheduled to face New Zealand in three T20s and two test matches beginning from December 18.
