T20 World Cup Starts With a Major Upset

Scotland defeated Bangladesh by 6 runs after a crunch match while Oman remained victorious against Papua New Guinea by 10 wickets

The much-awaited T20 World Cup commenced with an upset as Scotland won against Bangladesh in the second match of the inaugural day.

Eight nations are battling to make it to the next stage of Super 12s.

The opening match of the mega event was played between Oman and Papua New Guinea in which the former remained victorious.

In the second match, Bangladesh and Scotland battled to get points to advance to the next stage.

However, Scotland made a major upset as they won against 6th ranked Bangladesh.

Bangladesh now needs to defeat Oman in their next game to keep up their possibility of making it into Super 12s.

Further, Pakistan will face West Indies in its first warm-up match at ICC Academy Ground in Dubai while the green team will play its next match on October 20 against South Africa at Abu Dhabi.
