Pakistan’s batting coach Younis Khan leaves the team ahead of T20 World Cup 2022 scheduled in October.
The decision has come as a surprising one as the national side is all set to leave for England tour from June 25 to July 20 to play three ODIs and T20Is each.
“Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Pakistan men’s national cricket team batting coach Younis Khan today mutually agreed to part ways”, a statement issued on June 22 said.
Younis was appointed as the batting coach last year in November and he was to perform duties until ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022.

However, this isn’t the first instance when the maestro batsman has left his job abruptly. Younis Khan had resigned as the national team captain following allegations of match-throwing by lawmakers in ICC Champions Trophy 2009.
However, then-PCB Chairman Ijaz Butt had refused to approve his resignation, citing it as an emotional mistake.
Younis Khan is known to be a moody person in his circle which was visible in his attitude and demeanor when he led the national side.
Besides this, PCB had also attempted to appoint the premier batsman as the batting coach of the Under-19 team. The deal couldn’t be struck as the former captain sought additional powers to produce better batsmen.
However, he was then assigned the task to give batting tips to those part of the national squad.
However, many sports analysts have opposed the appointment of temperamental Younis Khan as the batting coach as he is known to have a thin skin.
Sources claim that the relationship between the players and coach started turning sour at the beginning of this year when South Africa and Zimbabwe toured Pakistan.
Sources claimed that some batsmen even went against the plan that Younis gave them just to knock him down.
Younis Khan had shared his grievances with PCB but they remained unheard and at last, he has stepped down as the batting coach.
