Lahore Qalandars (LQ) picked Singaporean right-hand batsman Tim David in replacement of South African David Wiese for the remaining matches of PSL 6 as the latter is out of the league.
With David’s debut in the Abu Dhabi tournament, cricket enthusiasts were eager to know more about him.
Thus, he was able to answer the curiosity in the first two matches played for Lahore Qalandars, where he scored 23 off 15 balls and 64 off 36 balls.
So far, David has scored 1,033 runs at an average of 38.25 and a strike rate of 155.33 in 39 T20 innings.

The aforementioned records tell David was a nice pick for the Qalandars to replace David Wiese.
The 25-year-old cricketer was born in Singapore in 1996 to Rod David who was an engineer by profession but he too represented Singapore in 1997.
Since childhood, Tim saw his father playing cricket for the Claremont-Nedlands Cricket Club and followed in his footsteps.
At the age of 19, Tim made his debut in the Northeast Premier League in England and became the leading run-getter for the year 2015.
Later, the young blood appeared in Under-23s in 2018 and scored 411 runs in five matches that assisted him in securing a place in Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL) with Perth Scorchers. However, the deal couldn’t last long due to a fracture in his foot.
Later in April 2019, Western Australia delisted him too and then Scorchers didn’t offer him a contract, leaving David to play cricket for his birth country, Singapore.
In 2019, his international career officially began as he got selected in the T20 World Cup qualifiers.
While David was struggling in his cricket career, Qalandars was searching for a batter, who was good against spin and most importantly available in Abu Dhabi.
Although the team shortlisted two candidates Jack Wildermuth from Australia and Tim David from Singapore, however, latter’s strike rate was more attractive than the former and that’s how the player made his debut in PSL 6.
Talking to ESPN, Lahore Qalandars Team Manager Sameen Rana said, “We wanted to have a player who can provide a balance in our line-up”.
