Women cricketers show reservations over outdated gym facility at NCC

Women cricketers, Pakistan women cricket team, outdate gym facility, NCC

Pakistan women cricketers expressed reservations over the dilapidated condition of gym facility at the National Coaching Centre (NCC) opposite the National Stadium.

Pakistani women cricketers have been criticised for showing low performance during international events but no one paid attention to the appropriate training facility for them.

Some of the star Pakistani women cricketers, who have represented Pakistan in both ODIs and T20Is, are left with no option but to train in an outdated gym facility here at NCC.

The cricketers are training in an outdated gym of the NCC without any trainer, Geo News reported.

According to the report, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has set up a training facility from 3 pm to 5 pm at National Stadium’s Hanif Mohammad High-Performance Centre.

However, due to fasting, many players showed reservations and asked PCB to change the training time. But, due to staff’s unavailability at any other time, players didn’t get a positive response. Eventually, players arranged alternative training facilities to keep themselves fit in the offseason.

The PCB media department did not respond to the query to the media outlet.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Pakistan team recently participated in ICC Women’s World Cup in New Zealand. The Green Shirts won just a single match out of seven they played in the mega event.
