World’s Oldest Living Test Cricketer, Eileen Whelan Turns 109

WEB DESK: England’s Eileen Whelan, the oldest living Test cricketer across genders, turned 109.

Eileen Whelan born in 1911, Highbury, London, played seven test matches for England.

She became the first female Test player to reach 100 years of age in 2011 and the same year, the ex-cricketer was awarded Honorary Life Membership by the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC).

Whelan debuted for England in June 1937 and took 10 wickets in seven matches with the best inning figures of 3/35. She credited Yoga for her healthy lifestyle.
