WEB DESK: The government and Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), alliance of opposition parties, lock horns before Multan’s demonstration today as the former is resolved to stop it while the latter is adamant about holding it.
PDM has announced to hold a rally in Multan on November 30, but the government has not given permission for it.
PDM has announced that it will hold the demonstration in Multan’s Qasim Bagh through thick and thin. It has vowed to scale all impediments that come its way.
Subsequently, the local administration has tightened the noose against the aspirants of the demonstration.

The city of shrines has been clustered with containers and trolleys in different areas leading to the protest spot including Ghar Chowk, Lohari Gate, Kutcheri Road, Hussain Agahi Road, Daulat Gate Road, Hazari Bagh Road, and Abdali Road.
Heavy contingents of the police have been deployed in different locations of the city of saints as well whereas additional contingents of Punjab police have set foot in Multan to control the anticipated influx of political workers.
Besides this, tear-gas shells and rubber bullets have been stocked as well.
All doors of Qasim Bagh have been locked whereas the panaflex and banners that had been raised in the ground by PDM have been removed by the administration.
Lohari Gate police registered a case against 1,800 unidentified people for trying to occupy Qasim Bagh in violation of the government’s orders.
There was a clash between the police and Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) workers too Rana Sanaullah of PML-N led a rally to Ghanta Ghar Chowk.
Meanwhile, the government officials are unwavering that they would not let the public meeting take place citing that a mass gathering would worsen already deteriorating coronavirus condition across the country.
Prime Minister Imran Khan believes that the shows by PDM were to save their corruption while putting public lives at risk.
The workers of different parties had reached the protest site after scaling all obstructions.
It is expected that the government and PDM workers may confront each other in Multan today once again.
