Young Indian Billionaire Cheats to Beat Ex-World Chess King
The game ‘Checkmate Covid’ landed in controversy after the young entrepreneur admitted that he took external help to beat the champion
Viswanathan Anand, an Indian chess grandmaster and former world chess champion lost his game against young Indian billionaire entrepreneur, Nikhil Kamath, while playing against 9 celebrities at a time for a fundraiser.
The game ‘Checkmate Covid’ landed in controversy after the young entrepreneur admitted that he took external help to beat the champion and that Anand knew about this foul play.
Kamath recorded a high-level play with 99% accuracy that is rare for an inexperienced player and later posted an apology dragging Indian chess champion in the matter.

The entrepreneur maintained that Anand was aware of him taking the help and somehow assisted him in the play.

The 34 old Kamath’s account was closed after the violation of fair policy by chess.com.
Anand’s manager and wife got furious on billionaire’s claim that the chess master helped him.
She said that it was a lie and she has never heard anything so outrageous in the champion’s career so far.
“He (Kamath) has taken a lie and used another lie to cover that. If he was helped by computers and friends, so be it. That is on his conscience. But he can’t drag Anand’s name and say Anand helped him”, she added.
The lady also informed the media that Kamath contacted them before posting the apology and the couple requested him not to include Anand’s name in the controversy.
