Will Trump Wear Facemask During Last Presidential Debate Today?

Trump Has Played Down Effectiveness Of Facemasks Since Virus Outbreak

WEB DESK: Two days before contracting the coronavirus, US President Donald Trump had mocked Democratic nominee Joe Biden for wearing a mask during the first fiery Presidential Debate.

However afterwards, Trump had tested positive for the pandemic virus and went under self-isolation at the White House.

According to the Republican candidate, he wore masks only when felt he needed it, unlike Biden who is seen  everywhere with it.

“I don’t wear face masks like him,” Trump had said. “Every time you see him he’s got a mask. He could be speaking 200 feet away and he shows up with the biggest mask I’ve ever seen.”, Trump had commented during the debate.

However, it will be disclosed only during the second debate on Thursday whether Trump’s position on the facemask has changed after contracting the virus or he still plays down its importance in stemming the pandemic.

Last Presidential Debate

The final round of the heckling presidential debate between Joseph Biden and Donald Trump will come to an end on Thursday with both leaders aiming for final shots on the other.

Republicans want President Trump to offer a hopeful vision for the country and adhere to policy contrasts with the Democrat to pull the remaining undecided voters towards him.

The debate comes 12 days before Election Day, as many Americans have already cast ballots. The polls show Biden leading nationally and giving a tough time in states where Trump swept the opponents four years back.
Trump, who staged a remarkable comeback in the closing days of the 2016 campaign, believes he can do it again by using the power of the presidency to attack his rival.

The high-profile event will take place at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee while NBC Channel Kristen Welker will act as the debate moderator. The debate will start at 9 pm Eastern Time (ET).

Welker will have the help of the mute button in connection with the heckling during the last debate. The debate will be on six topics including fighting coronavirus, American families, race, climate change, and national security.

According to the Nonpartisan Commission on Presidential Debates, the microphones of both presidential candidates will remain muted for portions of the debate. Trump and Biden will have to deliver an opening two-minute answer to each of the six debate topics.
