Moto Tunnel in Ayubia Looked Gleaming After 129 Years
Climate Change Team of Pakistan renovated the tunnel
WEB DESK: The Federal Minister for Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam inaugurated the tunnel ‘Moto tunnel’ after its restoration.
The tunnel was originally built in 1891, but due to negligence and heaps of garbage inside, it became futile.
The historic ‘Moto tunnel’ is 250ft long and can serve as a pathway to connect two valleys in Ayubia and Murree.
The restoration of the tunnel will help reduce travel distance for the nearby villagers.The ministry of Climate Change restored the British-built tunnel to preserve a stunning cultural heritage.
While inaugurating, Amin Aslam emphasized the protection of historic relic, he went on by saying that “Protecting and preserving natural resources like lakes, mountains, beaches, and rivers, which are the main sources of tourism attraction.
He further said that promoting ecotourism concepts and practices at all levels is inevitable for overall environmental and economic sustainability,”
