Swat Valley has been attributed as “Mini Switzerland in Pakistan”

Swat, a district in the Malakand region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan, has been attributed as “Switzerland of Asia”. With its natural beauty, hills, landscapes, and mountains, Swat valley, one of the mesmerizing tourist destinations in Pakistan, has regained its pristine.

Swat valley was once a domain of the Taliban and was badly hit by terrorism in past years.

From 2007 till 2010, Swat was a region of terrorists and their violent activities.

Pakistan Army launched a military operation against the Taliban in northern areas and announced the victory against terror in 2018.

Since then, Swat valley in Pakistan steadily begun to regain its beauty and has once again become a tourist spot in Pakistan.

The incumbent government has announced multiple projects to promote tourism in the country and invitations to foreign bloggers to visit northern areas in Pakistan is one of those initiatives.

The government has also announced a “visa on arrival” policy for five countries including Turkey, China, Malaysia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and the United Kingdom (UK) which has further enhanced the scope of tourism for a better Pakistan.

Swat district has several tourist spots including Malam Jabba that offers a range of activities.

From skiing to skating as well as trekking and dance floor to attract tourists locally and across the world.

However, apart from all the development in the Swat region, the area lacks basic facilities including non-availability of gas, medical services, uncontrolled prices of hotel rooms, poor road infrastructure, etc.

KP government requires to ensure basic facilities in the region for booming tourism.

Recently, singer Shehzad Roy visited Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and shared a video on his Twitter.

The singer maintained that it would be more delightful if the infrastructure was good.
