In the beautiful valley of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), the tourism department organized a four-day Winter Tourism Festival at Ganga Choti, a peak in district Bagh of AJK.
The tourism department in collaboration with the American Healthcare Information Technology Company, MTBC, put together the event to promote adventurous and winter tourism in the region.
The Winter Tourism Festival was attended by a large number of tourists including the locals in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Winter Tourism Festival was kicked off with a snowcross jeep rally attended by a huge number of participants and most importantly for the first time with their families.
The participation of the local and foreign tourists made the event a successful venture to promote the sinking tourism in the region.
The snowcross rally was then followed by a three-day festival at Ganga Choti.
A skiing event was organized for the first time in the region along with a training camp in collaboration with foreign trainers of the sport.

Nadlin from Australia and Caroline from Germany took part in the training sessions for the visitors.
“This part of Kashmir is a piece of paradise which is a great place for winter sports like skiing”, foreign trainers maintained.
Whereas, the visitors enjoyed the experience of skiing for the first time in AJK and praised the foreign instructors for their efforts.
“This sport is nothing short of an adventure that we have enjoyed,” said a local skiing trainee.
Yasir Hassam, a mountain cyclist from Gilgit Baltistan, was also among the attendees of the event and performed his cycling stunts on the snow-capped mountains of Ganga Choti.
It is to be noted that the Ganga Choti or peak is a tourist destination at an altitude of 9,137 feet above sea level.
