Zara Abbas, widow of TV anchor person Mureed Abbas, who was murdered over business dispute on 9 July 2019, has transferred the case to Model Court.
BOL news anchor Mureed Abbas and his friend Khizar Hayat were shot dead two years ago in Karachi, the capital of Sindh province.
Atif Zaman and his brother Adil Zaman were arrested for the murder of both the victims after initial investigation by police.
Zara Abbas, the widow of Mureed Abbas, has raised a question on the credibility of the Model Courts on social networking site Twitter.

She wrote that for the last two months just a drama is being staged in the Model Court. The case was scheduled twice for the Model Court just as a formality as it was never implemented, she added.

Zara Abbas said: “About 17 days ago, my husband Mureed Abbas’s killer Atif Zaman fell on the ground pretending to have severe pain of” appendix “in the model court. But, till today he had not been operated. His lawyers arrived late in the court and we kept waiting. They informed the court that Atif Zaman has to be operated and he is still in the hospital.
Zara Abbas questioned that if there was such a severe appendix problem then why he was not operated. She said that the matter is very simple the accused had staged a drama of pain in the court.
She complained that the judicial system does not support the oppressed.
