March 21 is the first day of Nowruz, the start of year 1400 in the Persian calendar, that was celebrated with stage shows and colorful programs by Afghans.
War-weary Afghans marked it with praying for peace as in many mosques, worshippers prayed for ending the war and returning lasting peace in their war-torn country.
