Lady Who Worked Tirelessly For Renovation of School
Shireen Khan, a Pakistani lady living in the United Kingdom (UK), worked overtime during the lockdown for sake of education and in order to construct a school building in Panjkot, a village in Azad Kashmir.
The lady worked day and night for the children studying under the open sky for the past 15 years and provided them with a well-constructed building of school.
For the inauguration ceremony of the Government Boys’ Primary School building, Shireen Khan flew from London.
Government Primary School has more than 200 boys and is the only boys’ primary school in the area having a population of 1,000.
The lady, who funded whooping sums of money for the school, inspected the classes and distributed gifts among the students.
“When there was no building, it was impossible for us to study in the snow, rain and hot weather. Either we had to take leave or to attend school in the extreme weather,” said Alia, a fourth-grade student.
Who Shireen Khan is?
The young inspiring lady Shireen Khan is from Rawalpindi, Pakistan. When she was three years old, her parents moved to UK where she continued her studies.
Shireen Khan is now involved in a business in the UK and is a spokesman and advocate for polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), an organization for the welfare of women.

“My parents advised me to help our people when I started earning,” expressed Shireen Khan.
She said she was shocked to learn that 15 years after the Kashmir earthquake, some schools were yet to be rebuilt.
“I saw in a picture a large number of schoolchildren studying without a building on a roadside, under a tree and in a dilapidated shelter”, she maintained.
“My business was completely shut down in the lockdown and I could not avail of the relief provided by the government but I worked overtime to fulfill my dream of building this school”, she added.
Shireen Khan’s story has been a precedent for all Pakistanis.
