Painter Shahid Rassam Wants to Teach The Magic to Underprivileged
The famous Canadian-Pakistani painter and sculptor Shahid Rassam is the principal of the Karachi Arts Council Institute of Arts and Craft since 2016.
The senior artist has exhibited his works around the world including United States (US), United King (UK), Canada, France, Italy, and India.
In conversation with Iliyan, Shahid Rassam put a spotlight on the dark sides of art in the country.

He was of the view that the country doesn’t support art as it should but the time is changing.
Now are people are becoming more aware of the importance of this field, he said.
“Choosing colors of a painting is not a decided element or a matter of my choice. In past, I used to paint mostly with greyish colors”, he replied to a question.
Shahid Rassam expressed that he always dreamed of serving the underprivileged who have a keen interest in arts and the academy is now providing basic material, financial and moral support to the poor in Karachi willing to learn the magic.
