Sahiwal Power Plant to Supply Electricity to 4 Million Households

The 1,320-megawatt power plant in Sahiwal, located in the district of Eastern Punjab is playing a key role in eradicating the country’s power shortage.

Sahiwal power plant was built in 22 months to meet Pakistan’s energy needs with the capacity to supply electricity to 4 million households.

The power plant has changed local people’s negative impression of thermal power plants.

As a major investment under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the Sahiwal power plant has so far generated 21.83 billion kWh of electricity, effectively narrowing the gap in power supply in the country, especially in the Punjab province.
