Different traditions are followed in the holy month of Ramazan and playing drums and tin cans are still practiced as a tradition in Lahore.
The tradition dates back to a time when there was no electricity, no loudspeakers in the mosque, and no modern clocks in Lahore.
Children used to gather around mosques at the time of Iftar and run back to their houses after hearing the call to prayer so that their elders could break their fast.
