Audit Firm Deloitte Gives Lifetime WFH Facility in UK

Deloitte CEO said that the coronavirus pandemic had largely impacted the way of lives and how people worked

Deloitte brings a boon to its workers in the United Kingdom (UK) as they will have the option to choose work from home (WFH) lifetime. Deloitte is one of the four leading audit firms in the UK having around 20,000 people on its payroll.

The firm’s offices in the UK reopened on 17 May 2021 and employees who wanted to come to offices for work were allowed.

The firm’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Richard Houston endorsed the recommendation, saying that the pandemic brought a pace in a hybrid working model.

One of the largest audit firms in the UK, Deloitte, had allowed WFH facility to its workers since 2014.

However, only less than half of its employees had resorted to it before the pandemic outbreak.

The audit firm has taken a lead from its competitors like Earnst & Young (EY), KPMG, and Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) as both firms have made it mandatory for the employees to at least show up in the office twice a week.

Deloitte CEO said that the coronavirus pandemic had largely impacted the way of lives and how people worked.

He realized that when it comes to work-and-life balance, one model cannot be suitable for all.

“It has also shown that we can trust our people to make the right choice in when, how and where they work’, he said in a statement.

He also announced that the firm would not bind its workers to come to the workplace for a certain number of days in a week even after the British government lifted all covid-19 restrictions.

The audit firm would let its employees choose where and how they work.
