Australian Govt Shocked as Videos Show Sex Acts in Parliament

A male assistant to an Australian lawmaker was terminated after one of the shocking lewd videos showed him performeing sex acts on the desk of a female MP in the parliament.

Meanwhile, after the videos surfaced, a former parliament staff member Brittany Higgins dared to speak up and said she was molested by her senior official in an office.

She said that the incident of sexual assault took place in March 2019. However, Brittany was pressurized not to report the incident to the police.

Soon after the allegations came to the fore, the protests against women assault and toxic workplace culture at the parliament started in Australia.

Lewd media

A former civil servant leaked some shocking photos and videos to Australian media.

All videos the whistleblower provided to the media were shared in a private Facebook messenger group set up by male staffers of the parliament.

The former government employee claimed that the prayer room at the Parliament House was used for sex.

He asserted that some of his colleagues and even lawmakers brought call girls into the parliament.

On March 23, the Australian newspaper and Channel 10 reported that the parliament male staff had also set up a Facebook Messenger group where they shared lewd photos and videos of sex acts performed in the parliament.

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison was shocked at the videos and it’s a matter that must be recognized and fixed, putting aside politics.

Things worsened as the Australian government did not handle the crisis prudently.

Last week, the premier had refused to meet the protesters and was criticized for it while one of the government’s MP Michelle Landry felt sorry for the aide who was relieved from duties following the incident.

However, the Australian prime minister said that they would soon propose laws to attract more women into politics.
