Nearly a decade ago, Canadian comedian Mike Ward mocked disabled singer Jeremy Gabriel with Treacher Collins Syndrome during a show and ended up in front of the country’s top court.
Jeremy Gabriel was born with a genetic disorder that can affect the facial bone structure and has been suffering from severe deafness due to the medical condition.
Not losing hopes, Jeremy followed his dreams and become a singer and performed for many public figures in the past few years.
Parents of the disabled Canadian singer filed a complaint against comedian Mike Ward who mocked Jeremy in his shows between 2010 to 2013.
In 2016, a Quebec human rights tribunal ordered the comedian to pay $35,000 under moral and punitive damages to Gabriel.
The jokes by Mike have seemed out-of-bound for mockery as the comedian believed that the condition of the singer was terminal and tried to drown him.
