Creative display on beach by family of Israeli hostage killed by Hamas in captivity

Family of Manny Godard Israeli hostage killed by Hamas created Powerful Display on the Beach Where He Grew Up last evening: “We Wish We Could Throw a Life Preserver to Each of the Hostages”, they wrote.

Yesterday marked the birthday of Manny Godard, who was murdered on October 7th in his home in Be’eri along with his wife Ayelet. His body is still held captive in Gaza.

Manny spent his childhood on the beach in Bat Yam alongside his father, who was a lifeguard there. This is where Manny’s love for the sea began. Over the years, Manny became a lifeguard on Israel’s beaches, saving many lives during his career.

The display includes 115 yellow life preservers symbolizing all the hostages – those alive, murdered, and fallen. The life preservers were inscribed with the word “Help” in various languages, collectively forming the acronym SOS.

Manny’s family wrote: “We wish we could throw a life preserver to each of the hostages, bringing them back to freedom and their families. These life preservers are closely associated with Dad, with his role as a lifeguard, with his kindness, and with his immense love for the sea.”
