Did Trump Take Kim Jong Un on US Air Force Aircraft?

During the Singapore summit, Trump gave Kim a glimpse inside his presidential state car ‘The Beast’ worth $1.5 million

According to a BBC documentary titled ‘Trump takes on the World’, the former United States (US) President Donald Trump surprised many diplomats by offering a ride to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to home on Air Force One as the summit 2019 concluded in Vietnam.

Although, the bond exchanged between Kim and Trump was not very friendly.

From time to time, the leaders have been seen engaged in a war of words before a diplomatic bromance made headlines in the media.

The offer was made some two years ago, which was denied by the Korean leader then.

Officials said that multiple security issues would have been raised between North Korea and US if the offer was accepted.

Matthew Pottinger, the top Asia expert in Trump’s National Security Council, while talking to BBC confirmed that President Trump offered Kim a lift home on Air Force One.

Further, the official added that Trump had the knowledge of Kim arriving on a multi-day train ride through China into Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam.

Thereby, the president said, ‘I can get you home in two hours if you want.’ Unfortunately, the North Korean Kim declined.

In 2018, Kim Jong Un preferred to travel on an Air China airplane while attending his first summit with Trump in Singapore.

The documentary also revealed that during the Singapore summit, Kim was also glimpsed inside Trump’s presidential car named “The Beast”, worth $1.5 million as a sign of their newly friendly affinity.

However, the North Korean Leader Kim had mentioned earlier that the US was Korea’s nuclear-armed ‘biggest enemy’ and there won’t be any amendments in the policies against North Korea despite whoever is in power.

Thereby, the decision taken by Kim Jong Un to reject the offer of Donald Trump to ride in ‘Air Force One’, was to the benefit of the people of Korea.
