‘End the Abandonment’ rally held in Israel

Over 300 vehicles and thousands of spectators participated in the “End the Abandonment” convoy led by families of the hostages, traveling from Hostages Square to Kibbutz Be’eri in Israel.

The families called out: “The opportunity to bring every hostage back is slipping away with each passing day!“, said the press release by Hostages Forum.

Today, the hostages’ families will arrive at Nirim, near the Gaza border, where they will use giant loudspeakers to call out to their captive loved ones, hoping they will hear.

Eliya Dancyg, granddaughter of the late Oded Dancyg addressing the rally said that: “This week, my grandfather’s body returned to Israel after rotting in Hamas tunnels for months. My grandfather was murdered. It doesn’t matter what came first: the gunshots or the bombings. He was kidnapped from his home, abandoned by the government, suffered in the tunnels, and was murdered by Hamas terrorists following IDF bombings. He could have returned alive in a deal, even in the first one. Do you understand? I could have hugged him again, but that will never happen now.”

Ella Ben-Ami, daughter of captivity survivor Raz Ben-Ami and Ohad Ben-Ami told the gathering that: “Currently, there’s a deal on the table waiting for the Prime Minister to gather courage and understand that the right and moral thing to do is to bring out all the hostages, giving us and them a breath of fresh air, literally, as they currently can’t breathe or see daylight in the tunnels. There’s a very clear choice on the table: take the deal today and save lives, including my father’s, or let them die and only retrieve tortured bodies.”

Daniel Lifshitz, grandson of Oded Lifshitz elaborated on, “What could be more important than the hostages returning to walk on the soil they grew up on? The Philadelphi Corridor? Or the value of our lives as Jewish people? The Corridor or 108 hostages? The Corridor or the redemption of captives? The Corridor or brave and worthy leadership for the people? The answers are clear. The alternative of staying in Philadelphi and collapsing the deal means more rape, murder, thirst, hunger, lack of air and oxygen for our hostages. The military pressure has done its maximum to reach a moment where we can achieve a deal!”
