Afghan refugees have been moving back and forth between Afghanistan and Pakistan for ages and now after the recent Taliban walkover in the country, the fear of huge migration from Afghanistan has spiked.
One of the most notable migrations was witnessed in 1979 during the Soviet-Afghan war and as per details over 3 million refugees took shelter in Pakistan at that time.
Pakistan hosted the shelter seekers for many years resulting in subsequent waves of violence and terrorism in the country.

The displaced were warmly welcomed by the nation initially but eventually blamed for the unemployment, disturbed law-and-order situation, ragging terrorism, smuggling, and various other conflicts.
Over the years, these Afghan refugees became a burden on the sheltering state and severely affected the economy.
As per a rough estimate, nearly 1.4 million displaced Afghans are still living in Pakistan, have families here, and settled in afghans dominated areas across the country.
After the seizure of power by the Taliban, the issue of the refugee crisis is one of the burning questions.
Pakistan being the neighboring state has been receiving the displaced Afghans in a large number and the foreign office has warned about the ragging issue multiple times but to no avail.
“This is the biggest worry for us right now”, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said.
On the other hand, Army Chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa also pointed out that Pakistan had been hosting over three million Afghan refugees for the last four decades despite paying a huge price for it.
Many analysts are of the view that Pakistan has already hosted a huge number of refugees for many years and the upcoming flood may worsen the socio-economic conditions.
