After two years of divorce between Hollywood’s most-admired celebrity Angelina Jolie decided to sell an expensive gift, Winston Churchill’s painting, brought by her ex-husband Brad Pitt.

The Moroccan landscape was painted by Former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (UK) Winston Churchill.

The 12th-century mosque image is a display of Marrakech at sunset, with a background of the atlas mountains reflects a living example of Hollywood as well as political history.

The Salt artist sold the masterpiece for more than $11.5 million (£8.3 million) shattering the previous record.

The Maleficent star auctioned the art piece in London at Modern British Art Evening Sale organized by Christie.

The masterpiece, ‘Tower of the Koutoubia Mosque’ was gifted to a 43-year-old star by her ex-husband which he had bought for $2.95 million in 2011 from a New Orleans antique dealer.

In 2014, the celebrity couple made the relationship public and amazed their followers from across the world.

Later, in 2016, the couple announced separation and stated divorced in 2019.

With the divorce proceedings, the speculation team was set up to divide their extensive art collection, finances, and child custody, making the Jolie family the owner of Winston Churchill’s painting.

Ex-husband, Brad Pitt, and Angelina Jolie have shared the screen on many successful projects and news of the sale of an expensive gift shocked the fans.
