Indian Army Generals’ Fracas End After Inquiry Orders
Both generals entered into a serious fracas and they launched a series of recrimination
In an unprecedented incident, two generals of a sensitive command of the Indian Army entered into a fracas and put serious allegations on each other of misconduct and abuse of authority.
Both generals are deployed in the crucial Jaipur-based South Western Command (SWC) of the Indian Army which maintains security on the Indo-Pak border.
SWC is one of the six operational commands of the Indian Army and headed by experienced lieutenant generals.
SWC chief Lt Gen Alok Kler and his second-in-command, Lt Gen KK Repswal, receded their complaints on Tuesday.
The withdrawal is a consequence of orders of the court of inquiry (COI) by the Indian Army Chief on the charges of two lieutenants against each other.
Both generals of the Indian Army entered into a serious fracas and they launched a series of recrimination. Both accused each other of dereliction of duties and even abuse of authority at certain points.

Both generals who have locked horns come from respected military families. Several family members of both army officials have served in the Indian Army as well as Indian Air Force (IAF).
The rift between them is not new but had been growing gradually as both had been complaining about the conduct of the other to the chief of the Indian Army since last year.
Indian Army Chief Gen Naravane directed Vice-Chief Lt Gen SK Saini to scrutinize the allegations. However, the inquiry official retired on January 3. Now, both generals have withdrawn from the accusations.
