As covid-19 pandemic became inexorable around the world, two contrasting incidents in India pertaining to SOPs occurred. A new set of rules has been devised for cinemas but implementing strictures has become a matter of conflict on the streets.
The Maharashtra government has announced to get a Rapid Antigen Test for people going to cinemas, which will be effective from March 22.
This depicts that an individual has to defray the expenses of the test, which doesn’t guarantee accurate results, in order to get access inside theatres that will double the outlay of the visit.
Moreover, some queries are becoming a concern for people such as when individuals are required to get themselves tested and for how long the test will remain verifiable.
Furthermore, Trade analyst Amod Mehra said the multiplexes will witness a drastic change in sales of movie tickets after the new rule will be implemented.
The distributors explained the complexity of the new rule and said people will become hesitant of standing in a long queue and getting themselves tested before entering cinemas.
However, many are anxious about the release of movies scheduled by some big Bollywood names this year.
Contrarily, Indian journalist, Viral Bhayani posted a video on Instagram where a woman grappled with a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) employee who asked her to wear the mask as a precautionary measure.
The BMC marshal was identified as Ashwini Chawan, who urged the woman to cover her face with a mask or pay a penalty of 200 Indian rupees.

In response to it, the 35-year-old marshal worker was attacked by a female passenger at Charkop Link Road, who was violating social distancing norms.
