Pakistan has been recognized as the country at the forefront to fight climate change and its Ten Billion Tree Tsunami drive has been acknowledged globally.
The mass plantation campaign named Billion Tree Tsunami was initiated in 2015 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

After gaining power in the center, a country-wide campaign was launched in 2019 to mitigate the effects of climate change and named as Ten Billion Tree Tsunami.
The country also hosted World Environment Day in June this year which was also a recognition of its efforts.
It seems like India has also taken a lesson from its rival neighbor and launched a countrywide plantation drive to increase its forest cover.
In the latest, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is going to visit Nanded today where he will be planting the 10 millionth sapling of the plantation drive launched by Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) in 2021.
