Indian Celebrities Face Off Over Farmers’ Protests

Indian prominent figures including Bollywood stars, cricketers, and politicians hugely reprimanded the support shown by the world’s prominent celebrities

In a bid to support farmers’ protests in India, prominent celebrities from across the globe penned down their points of view but failed to gain praises as several Indian counterparts detested them while a few remained an exception.

The Barbadian singer Robyn Rihanna Fenty succored for the farmers in a post on Twitter who have been protesting in India for their rights for the past few months.

Along with Rihanna, the climate activist Greta Thunberg also extended her support for the agitating farmers.

However, the Indian prominent figures including Bollywood stars, cricketers, and politicians hugely reprimanded the support shown by the globally recognized celebrities.

Several derogatory comments were made along with the presumption of linking the supporters with Pakistan.

However, a few of the celebrities in India have been trying to keep up with the global support for the protesting farmers.

Actor and producer Abhay Deol extended his support for the Barbadian singer along with Bollywood stars Taapsee and Swara Bhasker.

However, Indian film star Swara Bhaskar retweeted the post by Greta with a eulogized caption for the climate activist.

Meanwhile, the Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh released his latest track nearly 24 hours later after Rihanna’s tweet and dedicated it to the singer.

The track named “RIRI (Rihanna)” is a nearly two-minute-long song with opening lines describing the Grammy Award-winning singer as a beautiful woman.

Apparently, the celebrities in the secular state of India have been engaged in heated arguments with each other over ongoing farmers’ protests.

In a bid to repeal the new agricultural reforms, farmers mostly from Haryana and Punjab, have been demonstrating on roads for more than three months.
