Indian Cricket Team Shuts Eyes to Covid-19 Crisis

Pat Cummins, who plays for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL, vowed donation as the state is longing for oxygen

Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins announced to donate $50,000 to the ‘PM Cares Fund’ for the purpose of oxygen supplies in India but the players of Indian cricket team seem to have brushed aside the recent deadliest covid-19 crisis in India.

Pat Cummins, who is playing for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), vowed donation as the state is longing for oxygen.

Not only this, but the fast bowler also urged his fellow players in the IPL to make contributions for ‘weeping India’.

“India is a country I have come to love dearly over the years and the people here are one of the warmest and kindest I have met. To know so many are suffering so much this time saddens me greatly,” Cummins penned down.

The gesture shown by Pat garnered appreciation by several of his Indian fans.

On the other hand, despite the surge in coronavirus cases, no Indian cricketer has announced any contribution for the covid-19 patients in the country and not even Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli whose net worth is estimated around at $130 million.
