Indian Punjab CM hospitalised after drinking ‘polluted water’ from ‘Holy River’

Indian Punjab, CM Punjab, Bhagwant Mann, polluted water, holy river

The Chief Minister of India’s Punjab, Bhagwant Mann was admitted to hospital after he drank “polluted water from ‘Holy River’ to prove that water is clean.

Bhagwant Mann was seen in a video scooping up a glass of water from a river and gulping it down amid cheers from supporters. The CM drank the water, which is usually polluted with sewage waste from neighbouring towns and villages, without hesitation, NDTV reported.

The video is from last Sunday. Days later, he was admitted to a hospital in New Delhi.

However, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), of which Mann is a member, denied the chief minister had any infection. They said that he went to the hospital for a ‘routine checkup’ and was discharged last evening.
