Kumbh Mela Caused Thousands of Deaths in India
Despite the rampant coronavirus cases, the state allowed mass gathering near the Ganges, and thousands of devotees bathed in the river

India being the state with skyrocketing coronavirus cases celebrated Kumbh Mela, the world’s largest religious mass gathering that resulted in loss of hundreds of lives, and opened gates of criticism for PM Narendra Modi over his policies.
Subsequently, journalist Roshni Kushal Jaiswal exposed the government in a recent video.
Kumbh Mela was celebrated in the city of Varanasi commonly known as Banaras near River Ganges which is the constituency of PM Modi who won the 2014 and 2019 elections from there with a huge turnout.
Despite the rampant coronavirus cases, the state allowed mass gathering near the Ganges, and thousands of devotees bathed in the river.

The late announcement took thousands of lives in India and the state right now is fighting the most difficult battle of all time.
While the religious event was going on, a number of prominent personalities warned the government and highlighted the impanding peril.
However, the Indian government paid no heed to it.
The event, which was joined by thousands of devotees, resulted in an increased mortality rate.
Indian journalist Roshni Kushal Jaiswal shared a video on Twitter from the River Ganges and showed dozens of dead bodies being cremated near the river.
The female journalist blamed the Modi government for these fatalities.

On the other hand, Allahabad High Court passed an order to impose a complete lockdown in five cities of Uttar Pradesh (UP).
Whereas, UP’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath opposed the decision of total lockdown and made it clear that the state will not follow the orders.
