Malala is ‘Still Recovering’ From One Bullet Shot 9 Years Ago

Malala One Bullet Shot

In a recent post, the social activist Malala Yousafzai penned down her thoughts over an incident that happened to her 9 years ago and though she was rewarded with quality education, the girl is still fighting with that ‘one bullet shot’.

Malala, the youngest Nobel Prize laureate, hails from Swat Valley of Pakistan where the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) had imposed a ban on girls’ education.

Recalling the incident, Malala reached out to her social media handles and wrote her experience, and shared her photo from the hospital after being shot.

“Two weeks ago I lay in a hospital bed in Boston undergoing my sixth surgery, as doctors continued to repair the Taliban’s damage to my body”, she wrote.

Wondering about the girls still living under the Taliban rule, the social activist said the people of Afghanistan have taken millions of bullets over the last four decades.

Back in October 2012, Yousafzai and two other girls were shot by a TTP gunman while she was returning home from school.

Yousafzai was hit in the head and remained in critical condition at the Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC).

Later, Fazlullah and the TTP took the responsibility for the attack.

As soon as her condition improved, Malala was transferred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in the UK.

The post has come at a time when US troops are withdrawing from Afghanistan and the Taliban have gained control, creating a chaotic situation in the country as thousands of people are waiting for evacuation.
