West Bengal’s CM Mamata Banerjee is an Epitome of Simplicity

Banerjee revealed that she never travels in business class and her preference is always economic means of traveling

Mamata Banerjee commonly called Didi (elder sister) proved her mettle in the recent West Bengal elections by winning but there is more in the veil about her personality.

Mamata Banerjee proved herself as a master strategist and is now crowned as the 8th Chief Minister (CM) of West Bengal.

She founded her political party All India Trinamool Congress after separation from Indian National Congress and has served twice as a cheif minister before.

In a recent interview, the lady was asked about her earnings and way of living upon which she revealed gospel truths and her set of principles.

“I am entitled to Rs 75,000 pension from parliament and during 7 years of my service, I never took a single penny”, she replied.

The CM further revealed that she never travels in business class and her preference is always economic means of traveling.

“This is how I am saving millions of the state”, she added.

Mamata claimed that the state pays salary against her position as CM but she repudiated that too.

“I have been living in a rented guest house and paying the rent on my own”, she maintained.

While answering a question, the lady said that she is the author of nearly 87 books and has been surviving on the royalty paid for them.

Most of the books are best sellers and by that, she can earn much for her livelihood.

“Whatever I am getting as royalty for my lyrics and music, I distribute that money in charity”, she told.

On the other hand, when asked about paintings, CM maintained that she never keeps a single penny earned by her art work.

“It all goes in charity as I have enough to survive from royalties”, Mamata Banerjee revealed.
