Instead of Muslim countries, two envoys came face-to-face at the UNESCO meeting as the Israeli representative observed one-minute silence for Jews while the representative from Cuba stood for Palestinians.

A video from the meeting has been circulating on social media were the two delegates are exchanging opposite views.

In the meeting, the Israeli Ambassador to UNESCO, Carmel Shama-Hacohen, took the platform to mourn for the 6 million Jews killed in Holocaust.

Requesting his fellow ambassadors to observe one-minute silence, he thanked the countries which supported preventing a dishonorable consensus on an anti-Israel and anti-Jewish decision.

Following it, the Cuban representative contradicted and said that ‘only the Chair can ask for a minute of silence’.

She also pointed out that if Jews hold importance then Palestinians shouldn’t be bypassed too.

“I do think that this is an incorrect interpretation of this decision. I think the decision has been manipulated once again”, she wrote.

After that, internet users stood with the Cuban representative who has boldly spoken for Palestinians.

While the rest believed that even as a communist state, Cuba has done a great job for Palestinians what other Muslim countries were expected to do.
