In reply to a tweet, Jirga host praised the spokesmen of the Taliban including Zabiullah Mujahid, Suhail Shaheen, and Dr Naeem Wardak for their composure and handling of media.
He suggested Prime Minister Imran Khan send the spokespersons of his government to Kabul for training from the Afghan Taliban to get them educated on how to talk.

Further, another recommendation by Saleem Safi in a column drew ire when he suggested the government to settle things with Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) as the US did with the Afghan Taliban.
The social media users chastised the Jirga host at this comment as well.
They contended that there was a huge difference between the Afghan Taliban and TTP as the latter is a proscribed organization unlike the former.
They also accused Saleem Safi of being a sympathizer of the Pakistani Taliban.
Notably, Saleem Safi had interviewed then-TTP Spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan in 2017 which was banned from airing by Pakistan Electronic Media Authority (PEMRA).
