Spain Opts Women Dominated Cabinet For Recovery

The Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez unusually reshuffled the federal cabinet this week that it is dominated by younger women.

The premier has sacked most of his senior ministers and representation of women has been boosted.

The female-dominated cabinet will work on the country’s economic recovery and job creation following the pandemic.

In a press conference post shuffle, Pedro Sánchez said that the young cabinet has been formed to revive social, green, digital, and feminist agendas in Spain.

The premier said that the move has made his country a benchmark in the world and region in terms of gender equality.

The prime minister had sworn in January 2020 and just after two months, the country had to go under a lockdown which crippled its tourism industry.

Now, Sánchez has introduced a generational change in his cabinet after almost a year and a half to make the country recover from aftermaths of the pandemic.
